The Big Tomato, Hairplanes and Sank You

I love this age with Nicholas (and loved it with Patrick, too) because of the cute words they come up with. Patrick and Nicholas were running around my MIL's backyard recently hiding from the big twister (courtesy of a recent Wonder Pets episode they watched) and Nicholas has continued the game here at home over the last few weeks, except that he keeps saying "Hurry, hurry, mommy, the big tomato is coming!". He also calls airplanes "hairplanes" and says "sank you" instead of thank you.

Patrick had his school program last week. It was called "Dinostars" with an American Idol theme. It was cute. He is in the back row on the right with the orange hat.

I made Valentines for his class this year. They were lifesaver rolls turned into rockets. They turned out pretty cool. Chuck sent me tulips and one of our neighbors left flowers on our doorstep. Aside from the colds and pink eye, it was a good V-day.

While Chuck was on vacation he finished a walk way that had been started by the previous owners. He also wired our new under the cabinet TV that my MIL gave us for Christmas. It is really awesome for when we are cooking dinner or doing the dishes.

Catching the Big One

We went fishing yesterday at the pond behind our house. Nicholas loves it, so he is fitting right in with his brother and dad. Patrick took us by surprise with the monster big mouth bass he caught. Chuck had to help him reel it in and hold it for the pictures. We have mostly catch and release ponds/lakes around here, so perhaps we will catch this one again!

Chuck has been on vacation for the last week and a half and fortunately doesn't go back to work until next Wednesday. He went on a guys trip to Vegas last week for 3 nights and brought home more pictures of food than sights, but this is typical as he was with 4 other chefs. We had a great visit at Mel's house last weekend and were excited to have Aunt June, Uncle Donnie and Great Gran down from Altus for a very delicious dinner that Chuck cooked for us. We were also able to see Chuck's cousin, John, and his wife, Mary, who were in town to do some shopping. The boys flew a kite Saturday afternoon. It was a great day for it as it was very windy.
