Birthday Pictures

When you have a toddler in constant motion, it is hard to get a good picture! I didn't take very many at his party. There is more video from the party than pictures. Maybe I can figure out how to upload that one day, if I ever have any time!

Saturday night, the grandparents gave him his gifts and he was really cute opening them. He would pull out the gift and make a little O shape with his mouth and say "Ha!". It was really cute.
We read birthday books all week and talked about the cake and blowing out candles, but when the time came, he let Patrick help him. He got a lot of cute Elmo gift from family and friends, but one of his favorites is his Elmo hooded towel. Last night at his swimming lessons, he was really cute walking around in it.

Golf Camp

Patrick had golf camp this past week. Every morning from 8:30-11:30. He has always been hesitant when it comes to team sports, so I thought golf or tennis might be more comfortable for him. He chose golf. This camp used rubber clubs (because of liability, I guess). He was a little disappointed he couldn't use his own, but, after a week of not wanting to go, by the 5th day he woke me up excited. He takes awhile to warm up to new situations sometimes. He has really come along way. I'll never forget when he wanted to play soccer when he was 4 and never played. He told my dad he didn't want to go out on the field because there were too many kids and then he told my mom he would rather be at home gardening. After that experience, I let the idea of sports go. He is really good at soccer, basketball and baseball, but he shys away from groups and is not very aggressive or competitive. It is no surprise as Chuck and I were the same way, although I have gotten into sports and become quite competitive in my old age!

Birthday Boys

We celebrated two birthdays this past weekend. My dad's birthday is June 8th and Nicholas' is June 9th. We had Nicholas' party on Sunday night, June 8th. We were blessed to have Grandma Mel, Great Gran Charlece, Nana, DaDa and great grandmother Guinea here for the birthday party. We had our neighbors over to celebrate with us as well. Chuck prepard a fantastic BBQ and we had 4 cakes. Birthday pictures to come soon.

Happy Birthday, Nicholas!!!

Dear Nicholas,
Wow, what a great two years we have had with you! I wondered before you were born how life would be for us after being a family of three for five years. Well, it has been better! You have brought so much fun into our lives. From the time you were a baby, you have been full of surprises. Your smile is contagious. Your laughter is music to our ears. The twinkle in your eyes keeps us guessing what you will do next. You go through life like it's one big party. Your personality is big and commands attention. You make us laugh by being silly such as falling on purpose and saying "ow" or hiding and saying "boo!". You are a real sweetheart who loves to give hugs. You surprise us all of the time by running up and hugging our legs. I tell you are a "big boy" and you giggle and say, "no, baby". You have brought so much joy and love to our family.

We love you,
Mommy, Daddy & Patrick
