Snow Daze

Chuck has been on vacation for the past two weeks. We thought we could at least make it to Austin to stay at the Four Seasons there (we get complimentary nights), but they were blacked out. We did get to go to the wonderful Four Seasons employee holiday party here (note: this was our first date in a year - our last date was last year's employee holiday party - we left at 9:30 again - so very sad, I know). We also got to spend $2,100.00 fixing Chuck's car after spending $450.00 last month on my car. Yippee! We had a disaster of a garage sale on Friday & Saturday of last week which ended in making $70.00 and hauling a carload of junk to GRACE on Monday. I am happy that Chuck was finally able to say farewell to his enormous magazine collection that we have moved 5 times. We had Bon Appetite, Gourmet, Cigar Aficionado, Food & Wine, Sauveur & Food Arts going back 12 years. However, they were fun to read during our very slow garage sale. Since the garage sale, Chuck has been very busy remodeling our bathrooms. I will hopefully have before and after pictures very soon. I have been very busy napping. It has been so great having Chuck home the last two weeks. We have really missed him over the last few months. The really BIG news from the past two weeks is that Patrick has learned to ride his bike with out training wheels! He did it on the very first try! We are so excited for him! His dad also assembled his bunk beds for him that he got for Christmas from my grandmother. He has had lots of fun switching back and forth between the beds trying to hide from us. Nicholas has had a cold and apparently has two top teeth coming in. He has not been quite as happy as usual, but still a good baby. He has recently discovered that he has legs and really goes to town bouncing up and down in his exersaucer. We are still anxiously awaiting his big debut of rolling over and sit unassisted. Like Patrick, he is literally a very laid back baby. He is babbling a lot and his hand/eye coordination is really great. He is also drinking from a sippy cup now. We are enjoying the changes in both boys every day. It happens so fast!

Glad that y'all were able to go out on a date--we are often in by 10pm on nights when we don't have the baby so we completely understand!

Your post and pictures are adorable. I love the tiny snowman and the picture of Patrick hiding in bed with all his animals. So ET-eque. He has such a great sense of humor. I love his new bunk bed.

Nicolas is really growing. Glad he has found a new friend in his feet. He and his brother are going to have some fun when he gets mobile. They are going to be so funny :)

What a breath of fresh air to have had Chuck at home for a vacation. I know you guys are all loving that. Sorry the garage sale was a flop, but you got rid of all those magazines, major victory!!!

We almost always head home after dark to when we go out. We would get my parents to babysit while we went to a movie and just go home and go to bed!

Love ya! Amy

I am sad about the magazines, I always need them at school - don't throw anymore away, I will take them! You guys sound like us, date (what is that)? I can't wait to see the bathroom!
