Teeth Tales and Other Stories

We are proud to announce the long antcipated birth of Nicholas' two bottom teeth. I didn't know it could take a baby this long to get his first teeth. We also have exciting news to report for Patrick. He lost his first tooth on Tuesday night. He has been so excited to show everyone.

In other news, Patrick finished up Kindergarten Academy on Wednesday. This was a morning camp for most of the month of June that he went to for help with phonemic awareness. In every other category he was tested in, he got the highest score available. Basically, he just needs work with sounding out words. We will continue to work with him at home this summer.

Yesterday, he went to two versions of our church's free day camp and had a blast. The morning group is for 2 yrs - Kinder & the night group is for 1st - 5th grade. He decided to try them both out and had so much fun. The older group did different versions of reality TV shows. When I picked him up, he was all wet and I asked him what happened. He said, "You know the stairs that we go up outside to get to the walkway? Well, we hung upside down while they washed the blood out of our hair with a hose." "Blood!" I said. "No, I mean eggs & stuff." He was so excited to tell us of all the fun contests. There was reaching in a jar of crickets for a penny, digging through noodles, using your face to dig through dirt (cookie crumbs) for gummy worms, eating baby food & drinking from a bottle & cracking eggs on their heads and putting shaving cream & confetti in their hair. I can't wait to see pictures from the night! He is anticipating next week and planning on bringing a friend.

Nicholas has been standing up on his own this past week. We think he will be walking soon! He has also been playing catch. He loves to cook his binkys in his pretend microwave and put everything he can find in his shape sorters. He is such a joyful baby! We delight in his giggles.
Besides that, Chuck is getting to go on vacation again next Wednesday. We are celebrating our 12 year anniversary on Sunday & Patrick's 6th birthday on Tuesday. And, I am getting injections in my neck today. Lugging a 25 lb lump around is hard!

Now Matthew and Patrick have similar smiles! Sounds like a fun summer so far. I'm pretty sure you guys have graduated into old married couple territory after 12 years! :)
