Random Acts of Cuteness..

OK, for the four readers out there...

Earlier this week I overheard Chuck & Patrick in the shower and Patrick asked Chuck, "Aren't you going to put air conditioner in my hair?"
***
Nicholas' favorite new word in "mess" which he says as "me" (with the short e sound) and he is obsessed with pointing them out and cleaning them up. When my mom heard him say this a few weeks ago, she told him he was going to fit in just fine growing up in the K household.
***
Another favorite word is "hot" which he pronounces very clearly. For awhile everything was hot, but now we have him on the right track. He also likes to blow on his food before he puts it in his mouth which is funny when he is eating fruit or cheese.
***
I have talked before of the oldest cat in the world, Luna, and her incessant yowling that drives us completely insane. Nicholas has now perfected the word "hush" that he yells at her whenever she starts in.
***
Recently, Nicholas got a bug bite on his palm and he wanted everyone to scratch it for him and he would just smile so big. The bug bite healed a long time ago but he still wants us to scratch his palm for him.
***
Nicholas also loves to make animal sounds (yes, I know he is not the first baby to enjoy doing this), but we think its funny that he says "buoc, buoc" whether we asking him if her wants a bite of chicken, we are looking at a chicken or his big brother is calling someone a chicken head.

So Thankful!!!

We had a great Thanksgiving despite the ear infections for both boys and Nicholas eight dirty diapers per day for 4 days that turned into a painful rash. We went to Mel & Jack's house and celebrated with Jack's sister and her husband and Jack's mother on Thursday and then just hung out on Friday. Patrick was lying around not feeling well for half the day and then sick to his stomach that night. Boy, it seems like all I ever post about anymore is illness! Saturday, we went to my Grandmother's old house to celebrate with my family. My mom asked us all what we were most thankful for, and we all said family. She said "that Brandi is alive" and I think she was so right. We are blessed to still have Brandi here with us.

Backyard Fun

Chuck was off this week painting the outside of our house. We also got a pressure washer for our gift to each other for xmas. It has done wonders for our deck. The weather was so beautiful early this week as well. We love our home and neighborhood!

We were having fun Monday until I stopped to look at the camera and Nicholas walked behind Patrick on the glider-swing. I am not sure what happened but I heard the bonk of his head on the fence. He was ok-thankkfully. Ugh...I am the most nervous mother you will ever meet! I was ready for a CT scan!

Things to Not Do Before a 9am Photoshoot

1. Not wait until the last minute to pick out everyone's clothes...especially the main focus (Nicholas) whose jeans are tapered instead of straight leg and end up looking odd with his daddy's old boots.
2. Not feed everyone enough breakfast.
3. Not have a monster zit on your face that looks like Mount St. Helens
4. Not chew gum and leave it between your teeth.
5. Not let your hair air dry the night before to where it ends up too poofy on the top the next morning.
6. Not let your 6 year old stick his tongue in the space where his new front tooth is growing in next to the old baby tooth.
7. Not have a toddler with a double ear infection and runny nose.

We planned to do pictures this week because Patrick is out of school and Chuck is on vacation this week as well. Paige was very patient with us this morning. I only have myself to blame for not being more prepared (ok, the zit and ear infection I won't take blame for). I am sure she got some good shots, but I am afraid her subjects were kind of a mess!

Thank you!

to my very generous mother-in-law, Mel, for the new camera. This is the fourth camera she has bought us over the years (one being a video camera). We are blessed to have such generous parents on both sides of our families.
Happy Birthday, Chuck! Pumpkin birthday cake before work on Saturday 10/27

Patrick and his girls at our Halloween party

Vampire & Bat. It is hard to find a toddler bat costume that fits a very big toddler. This ended up being an up to 4T and was a little big. I never could keep Nicholas still long enough to get a good picture. He liked flapping his wings.

Happy Halloween...1998!

We did have a camera last month as my MIL loaned us hers, but I never got the pictures off before I returned it. Then, she gave Chuck a new awesome camera for his (ouch) 35th birthday on Saturday, October 27th. We need a memory stick for this new camera as it will only hold 10 pictures, so here I am taking you down memory lane again. In 1998, our annual Halloween Party got started at 10pm and ended at 4am. In 2007, our annual Halloween Party started at 5:30pm and ended at 7:30pm. Hmmm....

Here I am wiring snakes into my hair. I was Medusa that year. My brother Richard killed a big rattlesnake and mailed me the rattle for my paper maiche tail. My friend Talese was visiting with one of the first digital cameras. It was massive and cost like $800.00. These are all some pictures she took. Yes, our parties were so great that people flew in from Texas for them! Gotta love the poster in the background of the smoking kittens. Ahh, to be 24 again...
This was a friend from work. He was a mad cow. That was the year of the big mad cow disease scare.

Chuck was Spawn ( comic book character)

My friend, Norma, the cigarette girl. Swing dancing was in that year as well.

I just wanted to show you our very ugly kitchen. The house we were renting was very old and very dated. It is unusual in Boston to have wall to wall carpeting, a garbage disposal, central heat/air, a dishwasher, etc...We had none of these, but we did have a very spooky basement...

My good friend Alisa...miss her!
Talese visiting from Texas...hippie at heart.
